Bequests to Atisha Centre

Atisha Centre is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing the opportunity for anyone to contact and benefit from the teachings of the Buddha.

Staffed mainly by volunteers we are reliant upon the generosity of membership contributions and donations.

Bequests

Thank you for considering bequesting a gift in your will to Atisha Centre.
Your bequest would be used to fund our greatest need at the time. If you would prefer that it be used for a specific purpose, please contact the Director at director@atishacentre.org.au to discuss your wishes.

There are several types of bequests and each of them can benefit the Centre.
If you decide to bequest a gift to the Centre it is important that you use the correct title and wording (refer below). Your legal adviser should be consulted and advised of your wishes.

SPECIFIC BEQUEST

(a) General Purpose

“I bequeath the sum of $............[or..........% of my estate], free of all probate and death duties to Atisha Centre Inc, 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat, Victoria 3556, for the general purpose of the said organisation and I DECLARE that the receipt of the authorised officer of Atisha Centre Inc shall be sufficient discharge to my trustees who shall not be obliged to see to the application thereof.”

(b) Specific Purpose

“I bequeath the sum of $............[or..........% of my estate] , free of all probate & death duties to Atisha Centre Inc, 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat, Victoria 3556, to be applied to the Atisha Centre programme/project known as [insert name of programme/project] or the programme/project which is the nearest equivalent thereof in the event of it having changed its name, and I DECLARE that the receipt of the authorised officer of Atisha Centre Inc shall be sufficient discharge to my trustees who shall not be obliged to see to the application thereof.”

RESIDUARY BEQUEST

(a) where Specific Bequest already made to the organisation

“I bequeath the rest and residue of my estate to the said Atisha Centre Inc, 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat, Victoria 3556, for its general purposes and I DECLARE that the receipt of the authorised officer of Atisha Centre Inc shall be sufficient discharge to my trustees who shall not be obliged to see to the application thereof.”

(a) where no Specific Bequest made

“I bequeath the rest and residue of my estate to Atisha Centre Inc, 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat, Victoria 3556, for its general purposes and I DECLARE that the receipt of the authorised officer of Atisha Centre Inc shall be sufficient discharge to my trustees who shall not be obliged to see to the application thereof.”
